BC Rail's MLW RS-18

Marc Simpson (September, 20th 99):

I found newly rebuilt RS-18 630 at the BC Rail shops, in the new Blue and Silver scheme. This was the last 251 powered RS-18 on BC Rail. The end of an era, of sorts.

In August 1962 Pacific Great Eastern's brandnew RS-18's 598 (later 612) and 597 (later 611) get a wash at North Vancouver.

BCR RS18 My first encounter with live ALCo power took place at Quesnel BC, Sept. 7th 1994: BCR 628 and 621 switching! Note the altered hood openings of carbody filter and dynamic brake.

Another dose the following morning: RS18's #621 and 628 switch a row of cars in Quesnel yard, this is how it all began!!! Without these two RS18's there would be no ALCo homepage of me....!
