ALCos of the Belt Railway of Chicago (historic!)

BRC 601 Belt Railway's 601 and 603 (both C-424's) are performing well at Chicago, August 30th, 1996.

The BRC C-424s were sold to Omnitrax/Hudson Bay Railway in Canada. All units are now at The Pas, Manitoba. As of May 2000, only 604 was working along with the large HBRY M420 fleet. The disposition of the 420 is still uncertain but it didn't leave the US.
In summer 2002, 600, 601 and 604 left the Omnitax roster after they were bought by the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad.

On my visit of BRC's Clearing yard shops on June 15th, '99 the following units were stored (see pic below): 600, 601, 602, 605 and the 420. At least two sets of SD40s were working the hump.

One of a kind on BRC's former ALCo roster: the S-6 #420, stored at Chicago Clearing yard, June 15th, 1999.

Still looking sharp in a relatively new coat of paint, 605 had to join the storage line as well. Chicago Clearing yard, June 15th, 1999.
