ALCos of the Long Island Railroad

The Long Island employed a number of ALCo cab units as cab-control cars for their passenger trains. New power replaced the last units in 1999.

Long Island Railroad 604 (ALCo FA) at Oyster Bay, NY, late 1983. The unit is now preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum to which it went by a long detour via Portola CA. The window on the conductor's side is not original.
