The 43 Class is no ALCo design but ALCo powered - therefore it's described here. The class is based on the GE experimental locomotive #750 built in 1954. This was a streamlined single-ended cab unit and such is the 43 class too. All are retired but at least 4306 was preserved by the NSW Rail Transport Museum and is operable again!
