All RENFE units are stored/withdrawn. 1812 is an operational historic unit of the Galicia Railway Museum.

Diego Antonio reports (09.12.98):
The preservation of class 318 (ex-1800) is the following:
- Loc 318.009 is owned by TECSA, a maintenance company. This loco is the only which has dual braking Renfe system (air/vacum)
- Loc 1801 is in the 150 years of spanish railways at Barcelona. It's is painted in a false original paint scheme (white-green). the original was silver-green. This loco isn't operational. I think that this fact gives you an idea of the poor preservation of Renfe's historic material.
- 1806 is stored at Madrid-Atocha
- Some locos are stored at Monforte de Lemos station (Galicia), but I don't know the exact location.
