In 1996 eight Indian WDM-2 locomotives were imported. These are their details (less one number)
Manufacturer: Diesel Locomotive Works, India
Engine: Alco based V-16 of 2,600 bhp
842 843 844 845 846 847 848
A smaller version of these loco's was delivered to Puttalam Cement Works in 1997. I have no further details of this.
|Class M8 no. 845 is hauling a passenger train at Mt. Lavinia on the
Southern Coast Line on 12 May 2003.
