Matthew Sadler provided the following info:
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee has
several active, stored, and "to be restored" early Alcos. RSD-1s
#8669 and #8677 (ex-US Air Force, exx-US Army) are both in service, with
RSD-1s #8014 (ex-US Air Force, exx-US Army) and #8021 (ex-Tennessee Valley
Authority, exx-US Army) stored; the #8021 is not serviceable but the #8014
has been reported to me as in running condition but in need of repair.
RS-1 #913 is ex-Hartford & Slocomb Railroad and is out of service for
good but on display with its H&S paint job. This unit has many oil and
coolant leaks and was deemed too difficult to repair.
TVRM has also recently acquired RS-3 #109, the last remaining Central of
Georgia RS-3. This unit is to be cosmetically restored to its as-delivered
CofG paint scheme and eventually returned to service, funds and shop space
permitting.
TVRM also has Alco steam power - ex-Southern Railway 2-8-0 #630, which
should be returned to service sometime in 2001.
